Rae Wodarcyk

 

Rae Wodarcyk has been a semi-professional flutist for over 20 years.

Currently, Rae sits as Flute Section Leader and is Librarian for the Canton Concert Band, which performs regularly at The Village Theater at Cherry Hill.  In addition to performing for weddings, private receptions and for community groups, Rae has played with the South Eastern Flute Music Association Flute Choir, at churches and as Lauren’s guest at the Farmington Musicale.

 

In 2004, Rae founded The Grace Notes Flute Ensemble, which has played at the Inaugural Gala at the Village Theater at Cherry Hill, “Tyme Well Spent” tea house (formerly in Canton, now in Hartford, MI), annually at the Canton Fine Arts Show, receptions, weddings and community events.  Rae also founded the woodwind quintet “Take Five” in 2004, which has played at receptions and community events. 

 

Before moving to Michigan, Rae played piccolo and flute in the Lima (Ohio) Symphony Orchestra and also the Lima Area Concert Band for 10 years.   The LSO invited world-renowned guest artists such as Mark O’Connor and Theodore Bikel, while the LACB hosted Bill Holcombe as an honored soloist/conductor.   Rae also served as Music Director, playing both flute and piano, at St. Patrick Church in Bellefontaine, OH for 2 years.  

 

Rae resides in Canton with her husband and their three daughters. In her spare time, Rae enjoys volunteering her time towards her children’s schools and her church.
